CIBI Cooking Class ー October

Join us for a relaxed, hands-on cooking class at CIBI, guided by Meg.

This class offers an introduction to Japanese home-style cooking through a mix of demonstration and hands-on practice. Together, we'll explore simple techniques, seasonal ingredients, and the pleasure of sharing a meal made from scratch.

In this session, we'll be making gyoza — one of the recipes featured in CIBI's upcoming cookbook (releasing 1st September 2026). Simple, satisfying, and made to be shared. 

Demonstration:

  • Learn how to cook rice using a traditional donabe rice cooker, Kamado-san
  • Learn how to make kombu dashi and osuimono (Japanese clear soup)

Hands-on:

  • Make daikon pickles
  • Make gyoza, including preparing the filling, folding, cooking, and making the dipping sauce

Take home:

  • Freshly made gyoza
  • Daikon pickles

After the class:

  • Enjoy a meal together: rice, soup, and gyoza
  • Tea will be served

Whether you're confident in the kitchen or just starting out, this is a welcoming space to learn, ask questions, and cook together.
